Velammal Nexus felicitates Gukesh and Praggnanandhaa with ₹20 lacs cash award each

On Monday 11th September, Velammal Nexus hosted a grand felicitation ceremony to honor the remarkable achievements of their students and coach. GM D Gukesh, GM R Praggnanandhaa, Gold and Bronze medal winning teams at FIDE World School Team Championships 2023, Tennis player - Haritha Sree and Coach Velavan were felicitated. Both Gukesh and Praggnanandhaa received ₹2000000 (US$ 24100+ or €22440) each for becoming India no.1, World no.8 and securing Silver at FIDE World Cup 2023 respectively. Velammal MHS Mogappair, Captain of their team - Velavan Subbiah and Velammal Vidya Alapakkam were also felicitated for winning Gold and Bronze medals. Photos: Abhineet Chute

World School champions and their Captain also get rewarded

Velammal Nexus felicitated GM D Gukesh, GM R Praggnanandhaa, Gold and Bronze medalist teams at World School Team 2023 Championships, Asia no.2 Tennis player - Haritha Sree and Chess Coach Velavan. The felicitation ceremony took place at Velammal Main Campus, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
