D Gukesh and Arjun Erigaisi stay in World top ten, Aravindh Chithambaram storms into Top 50

D Gukesh and Arjun Erigaisi maintained their place in World Top ten in FIDE Rating list June 2024. While Gukesh did not play any Classical rated games, Arjun played TePe Sigeman and Sharjah Masters to gain 0.4 Elo rating which maintained his rating. Gukesh is now World no.6 and Arjun World no.8. However, Arjun's live ranking is no.5 and Praggnanandhaa no.10, but the next change will take place in July. Aravindh Chithambaram gained 13.6 Elo rating points to become India no.7 and World no.44. Currently, there are four Indians in top 13, five in top 24, six in top 33, seven in top 44 and nine in top 61. Aravindh is one the biggest gainer of this list in the Open at the top. Among the Women, there are three Indians in top 14, four in top 24, five in top 57 and 10 in top 100. IM Divya Deshmukh is the highest gainer among the Indian women. Divya Deshmukh moves to World no.24 among Women

The top Indian gainers in June FIDE Rating list are - Aravindh Chithambaram and Divya Deshmukh. Aravindh moved up from India no.9 to 7 and World no.65 to 44. IM Divya Deshmukh remained India no.4, however, she moved from World no.30 to 24 among Women.

Women: Three in Top 14, Five in Top 57

Three Indian women are in top 14, four in top 24 and five in top 57. IM Divya Deshmukh's triumph at Sharjah Challengers moved her from 30 to 24th in the rank. IM Bhakti Kulkarni returned to World Top 100 among Women. She gained 8.6 Elo rating points to claim 88th place. The other returning player among top 100 is IM Padmini Rout. She increased her rating by 14.4 Elo points to claim the 100th place. Currently, there are ten Indian women among top 100 which is one more than the Open rankings.

IM Bhakti Kulkarni increased her Elo rating by 8.6 points. She is now at World no.88
