The Bangkok Open returns!
We welcome the return of the 21st Bangkok Open and Challengers which will be held at the beautiful Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa from 13th to 21st April 2024.
Participants at previous Bangkok Opens can confirm the perfect playing conditions together with the attention to care that can only be enjoyed in Thailand and traditionally the dates are also that Songkran (13th - 15th April), their national holiday which is also their most special festival, and so everyone coming is indeed going to have a very special time!
Typically, the Bangkok Open attracts 300 players from all over the world and this year the initial registration already boasts 70 entries in the Open alone from a total of 19 countries, a number that is expected to expand significantly in the coming weeks.

Clearly also a big opportunity for title norm seekers!
Unfortunately Indian defending champion Surya Sekhar Gangly who also won in 2016 is unable to return to what he calls his favourite tournament but we have a former champion in Indonesia’s Novendra Priasmoro, the surprise winner in 2018 when just a FIDE Master and of course also Australia’s Dr. Zhao Zhong Yuan who won in 2013.
Hua Hin is a a leading tourist destination for both locals and foreign tourists, easily accessible directly by bus or taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport, and of course train, bus and taxi from Bangkok.
Special rates at the Sheraton has been arranged for those wishing to enjoy the full Bangkok Open experience and of course there are a wide range of numerous other accommodation options available.
