Proposals to change FIDE's rating and title regulations
After Abhimanyu Mishra achieved his GM title and became the youngest GM in the history of chess, breaking Karjakin's long-standin record of 2 decades, the World Championship Challenger Nepomniachtchi tweeted, "I’m dazzled with the new record, so I’d like to suggest some changes to the order of conferring titles. For example, one of the norms must be fulfilled in an open tournament..." While Abhimanyu and many other youngsters have achieved this title fair and square, FIDE seems to have decided that it is time for them to have a fresh look at how the ratings work and the titles are conferred. If you feel, you would like to voice your opinion about the ratings and title regulations, check out the article on how to join. Photo: FIDE
