World Chess organizes a Master Class every month with a world class player to edify the chess enthusiasts and learners about how to get better at the game. The guest in December was FIDE World Cup 2019 winner Teimour Radjabov. On Sunday 24th January, seven-time world champion, maestro Vishy Anand will host a Master Class.
About Vishy Anand
A five-time world chess champion, Anand became the first grandmaster from India in 1988. He won the 2000 FIDE World Chess Championship, a title he held until 2002. He later became the undisputed World Champion in 2007, and successfully defended his title in 2008, 2010 and 2012.
In April 2006, Anand became the fourth player in history to pass the 2800 Elo mark on the FIDE rating list, after Garry Kasparov, Vladimir Kramnik, and Veselin Topalov. He occupied the number one position for 21 months, the sixth longest on record.
At this Masterclass, GM Anand will talk about how to defend tough positions.
