India dominates World Railway Championship 2025

India scored a perfect 15/15 to become World Railway USIC Champion 2025. The team finished two match point ahead of the rest. Germany and Switzerland scored 13/15 each to secure second and third place respectively. The Indian team comprised of GM Diptayan Ghosh, IM Himal Gusain, GM Mitrabha Guha, IM Neelash Saha, GM P Shyaam Nikhil, GM Visakh N R and T J Sureshkumar (Coach). India whitewashed Switzerland, Austria and Bulgaria by 6-0 each. The remaining two wins were against Germany 5.5-0.5 and Czech Republic 1-5. Mitrabha, Himal and Neelash scored a perfect 5/5. Diptayan, Visakh and Shyaam contributed a valuable 4.5/5 each. All members of India are part of Indian Railways.

A total of 74 players including four GMs and two IMs represented 11 countries across the world. The four-day five round tournament was held at Ar March'Du village in Quiberon, France from 7th to 9th October 2025.
