GM Zhongyi Tan (CHN) defeated GM R Vaishali to eliminate her. Zhongyi will face the winner of the tie-breaks between Harika and Divya. Harika and Divya to play tie-breaks, Vaishali gets eliminated

Earlier, Harika Dronavalli won Bronze in a similar format for three times - 2012, 2015 and 2017 but the event was called FIDE Women's World Championship. Since 2021, the Knockout version of the Women's World Championship has been renamed to Women's World Cup. The key difference, the top three finishers advance to the next FIDE Women's Candidates. Both Harika and Koneru Humpy are legend of the sport. It is only fitting that they shatter all glass ceilings one after the other.
