The new executive of the All India Chess federation has been elected unopposed

The result of the election for new office bearers of the All India Chess federation for the tenure of 2024 to 2027 has been declared today by former Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Rang Nath Pandey, and former Justice of the Delhi High Court, SS Sistani. It was already decided that the election of the All India Chess Association would be unopposed when only 15 names remained for the 15 available posts on March 4 for withdrawal of nominations. With this, the All India Chess Federation has become the new sports association implementing the National Sports Code. Among the key office bearers, Nitin Narang of Haryana has been elected as President, Dev Ajay Patel of Gujarat has been elected as Secretary, and International adjudicator Dharmendra Kumar of Bihar has been elected for the post of Treasurer. All India Chess Federation elections completed unopposed

It was previously decided that the election of the All India Chess Federation would be unopposed, and it was officially announced today. In the last few elections, the All India Chess federation's elections were held many times due to court decisions, whereas this time all the office bearers have been elected unopposed.

The elected officials are as follows: Nitin Narang (Haryana) - President, DP Anantha (Karnataka), Dibyendu Barua (West Bengal), Raghavendra Singhania (Chhattisgarh), Mahavir Ranka (Rajasthan), Anil Kumar Raizada (UP), and Repo Ronya (Arunachal Pradesh) - all Vice Presidents; Dev. A Patel (Gujarat) - Secretary; Dharmendra Kumar (Bihar) - Treasurer; Kandarpa Kalita (Assam), Prasanta Kundu (Tripura), H Lalthlamuna (Mizoram), Soibam Mangijao Singh (Manipur), Sanjeev Thakur (Himachal Pradesh), and Manish Kumar (Jharkhand) - all Joint Secretaries.

The challenge ahead:

Currently, the influence of young Indian chess players is making waves worldwide. In such a scenario, India, as a chess superpower, holds immense potential. However, the new working committee of the All India Chess federation faces several challenges. These include providing all possible facilities to the Indian team in the FIDE Candidate and World Chess Olympiad scheduled for this year, facilitating the participation of new players at the global level, organizing the already announced Indian Chess League, and further developing the structure of chess at the domestic level. The new committee will need to address these issues effectively.
