Dimitar Mardov triumphs at Paracin Open 2024, Kushagra Mohan third

15-year-old IM Dimitar Mardov (USA) scored an unbeaten 7.5/9 to win 17th Paracin International Chess Festival Open A (>2100) 2024. He finished a full point ahead of the field. Nine players - GM Alexandr Fier (BRA), IM Kushagra Mohan, GM Eltaj Safarli (AZE), IM Aswath S, FM Khuyagtsogt Itgelt (MGL), GM Gergely Antal (HUN), IM Yannay Ben Ari (ISR), IM Enes Tanriverdi (TUR) and GM Krishnan Sasikiran scored 6.5/9 each. They secured second to tenth place respectively. In the Uros Dinic Memorial Rapid Rating event, IM Bojan Maksimovic (BIH) and Kushagra scored 7.5/9 each. They secured the top two places respectively. GM Dejan Pikula (SRB) was third 7/9. The total prize fund in Open A was RSD 1170000. The top three prizes were RSD 300000, 200000 and 100000 along with a trophy each respectively. Kushagra shines in Serbia

IM Kushagra Mohan won Vojvodina Rapid Rating Open 2024 scoring an unbeaten 6.5/7 on 26th June. The following day on 27th June, Kushagra finished third in the Blitz Rating Open. A little over a week later, Kushagra secured second place at 20th Uros Dinic Memorial Rapid Rating Open, part of 17th Paracin International Chess Festival 2024.

Before this, IM Aswath S scored 6/9 to finish third at Vojvodina Open 2024. He also won KLETT junior league international part of Vojvodina Open, for Velammal Nexus India team. They were Classical and Rapid rating events respectively.

A total of 127 players including 16 GMs, 21 IMs and 2 WIMs took part from 21 countries across the world in this nine-day nine-round Swiss league Rating Open A (>2100) tournament. It was organized by FM FT IA IO Sasa Jevtic at Pool 'Prestige' in Paracin, Serbia from 3rd to 11th July 2024. The time control for the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.

It was organized by FM FT IA IO Sasa Jevtic at Pool 'Prestige' in Paracin, Serbia on 7th July 2024. The time control for the tournament was 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment.
