Anton Korobov clinches Czech Open 2022 Rapid, Harsha Bharathakoti third
The top three seeds, GM Anton Korobov (UKR), GM Alexander Donchenko (GER), GM Harsha Bharathakoti and fifth seed GM Vojtech Plat (CZE) scored 7.5/9 each. They were placed first to fourth according to tie-breaks in Czech Open 2022 Pardubice G Rapid. Except Plat, all three podium finishers lost one game each. Donchenko defeated both the champion and the second runner-up. Harsha is currently unbeaten 4/5 in the GM Open A event. IM Moksh Amit Doshi is in a four-way lead 4.5/5 with IM Piotr Brodowski (POL), IM Kamil Stachowiak (POL) and GM Alexander Donchenko (GER). Photo: Czech Open Pardubice CZ fb
Top three finishes in the same order
This is Harsha's second podium finish of the year. Earlier this year, he finished third at 19th Delhi International GM Open 2022. Total prize fund for the G Rapid was CZK 70000. Top three prizes were CZK 10000, 6000 and 5000 each. IM-elect FM Aradhya Garg is the only other Indian to finish in top 15. He scored 6.5/9 to finish 12th. WIM Michelle Catherina and WIM Savitha Shri B scored 6/9 each.

Harsha - Stocek, Round 8

White's position certainly looks quite pleasant after 39.b4. He has the space advantage and Black's knights are almost crippled, lacking enough space to move around. 39...f5 did not help his case. White knight occupied the e6-square and eventually exchanged with the other knight at f8. Later e6 break only helped White to increase his advantage.

A total of 185 players including 12 GMs, 11 IMs and 2 WIMs from 15 countries across the world took part in this two-day Rapid Rating tournament. The event was organized by AVE-KONTAKT s.r.o. at Pardubice, Czech Republic on 20th and 21st July 2022. The time control for the tournament was 20 minutes + 10 seconds increment.
