A special Knockout tournament at the ChessBase India Chess Club Indore

The ChessBase India Chess Club started off in the Phoenix Citadel Mall at Indore from 11th March. Since it's inception, 2 tournaments have been held already at the Club - the inaugural Blitz tournament, and another swiss Blitz event in the 3rd week. This time, we are trying something new - we are holding a Knockout Blitz tournament with 64 players this Saturday! There will be a total of 6 rounds played. Knockout Chess Tournament in ChessBase India Chess Club, Indore!

The ChessBase India Chess Club at the Phoenix Citadel Mall Indore will be held this Saturday 1st April, from 5-7 PM IST! For this week, we are holding a Prize money knockout tournament with 64 players. Join us at the Club in Saturday to play and witness an exciting tournament! Even if you are not playing the event, you are more than welcome to come and visit the club and play a few games with your fellow members.

General Rules & Instructions of the Saturday Knockout Tournament

1. Time Control: 5 mins + 0 second (No Increment)

2. Number of Rounds: 6

3. System of Play: Knock Out

4. The Arbiter’s decision will be final.

5. For illegal moves: For the first illegal move, the player will be given a warning. If the same player makes a 2nd illegal move, they lose the game.

7. As it is a direct elimination tournament, in case of draw between 2 players, a 3 minutes + 0 second (without increment) match with random draw of colours will happen.

8. Total number of entries: 64

9. Chess Boards and Chess pieces will be available at the Club. The players can bring their own chess clocks if possible.

10. Don't worry - even if you are knocked out of the tournament, you will still be able to play chess in the Chess Club.

Prizes

The total prize money for the tournament is Rs 3200/- + some attractive prizes. The entry is free! Following is the complete prize structure:

6: Rs 150

7: Rs 100

8th: Rs 100
